Healthy and Clean Kitchen – 1

When it comes to cooking, cleanliness is of utmost importance…As we all know, the easiest way of ingestion into Human Body is through Mouth….i.e, the food we eat!! Also, its the easiest way we could avoid unwanted things too coz we can control and choose what we eat and what we dont! Dont you agree?

So, I thought, why not list out some basic things we should do, before taking over the Kitchen and starting our new work….or how to maintain it cleanly not only to see, but also to eat! Afterall, Healthy food has no meaning without Cleanliness!

  • Always, wash your vegetables before you use, this is especially if you buy it from a street vendor or vegetable market ….but its def recommended even when you buy packed veggies in shops like reliance food. Make sure you dont overdo it like soaking in water for hrs….if its leafy vegetable, soak in water for 10 mins max and other just wash under running water.
  • And obviously, you should wash your utensils before you use. This depends, just see if its dusty/dirty …I always prefer to wash before use.
  • After cooking, clean the surface of the kitchen where you cut veggies etc…if not to sparkling clean you should make sure its not sticky !
  • The used utensils depending on the usage, soak them or clean them after you finish dinner.
  • Take care while storing veggies in fridge and make sure you dont mould them! Coz sometimes, when one forms mold/gets spoiled, it spreads to good ones…
  • Store curry leaves and coriander in air tight containers in fridge to keep fresh for many days and to keep the aroma.

These simple things, most of you guys might know but thought it could be a good start for kitchen aliens! πŸ™‚ More to come too!
